Happy Friday, writers!
Today’s blog post is a short one, but it features information about the upcoming writing course plus a plug for Literistic.
This winter’s class offering, One-on-One Creative Writing Instruction (Fiction), is filling up, and I’ve started sending out class contracts for the session. Only a few spots remain, so if you want to hunker down and work on a story during the winter months, get in touch soon!
Also, in a previous blog post, I plugged Duotrope, a subscription-based service that provides an extensive database of fiction, poetry, and non-fiction markets. Lately, I learned of a similar service, Literistic. This subscription-based service sends emails to writers on a monthly basis with a list of deadlines for submissions to literary magazines, including upcoming contests and fellowships. As a creative writing instructor, one of the most frequently asked questions I receive is: “What can I do with my story when it is finished?” Duotrope and Literistic are great places to begin your search!
