Just two days ago, CutBank was the featured Market of the Day on Duotrope’s Facebook page. If you’re a Montanan, you may have already heard of CutBank, the literary magazine founded by the University of Montana’s Creative Writing Program. For more than forty years, the magazine has published outstanding fiction, non-fiction, and poetry by regional and international authors, including Louise Erdrich, Seamus Heaney, and many more.
As a Montana-based writing instructor, I’m often approached for information about regional markets that accept well-written work. While CutBank accepts work from around the globe, the magazine has “a regional bias” and is on the look-out for exceptional fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. The magazine’s “submit” page details submission options, including guidelines for its print edition, online content, and contests.
